چکیده

Owing to the high degree of perishability fruit, peach industry faces serious challenges tackling physiological disorders, microbial/chemical decay, and suboptimal quality fruit during following cold storage. The present study was aimed investigate effects spray applications calcium chloride (CaCl2) at various stages growth development, on ripening, flesh softening, chilling injury (CI) nutritional cv “Flordaking” low-temperature aqueous solutions CaCl2 [0, 1, 2, 3% (w/v)] were sprayed trees cell division, pit hardening expansion in 2011 2012. At commercial harvest, hand-picked subjected storage 1 ± 1°C (RH: 90 5%) for 6 weeks. data CI index other characteristics recorded harvest then weekly up results showed that pre-harvest application substantially reduced incidence delayed climacteric ripening seemingly by lowering rates ethylene production softening as compared control, regardless doses its time, however higher proved be toxic causing blemishes surface peaches. In conclusion, @ 1% may a successful management tool maintain extend storability

Effect of calcium chloride treatment on post harvest quality of peach fruit during cold storage

This study was carried out on the effectiveness of calcium chloride (CaCl2) treatments on the post harvest quality of peach fruits during cold storage at 10oC and 75 ± 5% RH. Different solutions of CaCl2 such as 1% (T1), 2% (T2) and 3% (T3) were prepared and the fruits were dipped for five minutes, while (To) was left with out calcium chloride treatment as control. The fruits were packed in cor...

A Non-Climacteric Fruit Gene CaMADS-RIN Regulates Fruit Ripening and Ethylene Biosynthesis in Climacteric Fruit

MADS-box genes have been reported to play a major role in the molecular circuit of developmental regulation. Especially, SEPALLATA (SEP) group genes play a central role in the developmental regulation of ripening in both climacteric and non-climacteric fruits. However, the mechanisms underlying the regulation of SEP genes to non-climacteric fruits ripening are still unclear. Here a SEP gene of ...

Low-temperature conditioning alleviates chilling injury in loquat fruit and regulates glycine betaine content and energy status.

The influence of low-temperature conditioning (LTC) treatment on chilling injury, glycine betaine content, and energy metabolism in loquat fruit at 1 °C storage was investigated. The results indicated that LTC treatment significantly reduced chilling injury index, ion leakage, and malondialdehyde content in loquat fruit. Betaine aldehyde hydrogenase (BADH) activity and endogenous glycine betain...

Physicochemical Properties and Nutritional Value of Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) Fruit at Different Maturity and Ripening Stages

Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) fruit is an important medicinal plant in Iran. The harvesting time is a crucial for jujube fruit quality. Several characteristics of jujube fruit when harvested at four development stages; white mature (light green), crisp mature (white-red), fully mature (red) and fully ripe (dehydrated brown) were evaluated. Fruit weight, diameter, volume, pulp to stone ratio, f...
